'My Europe - Finland'

My Europe / Mein Europa

My Europe' is an interactive digital series of events that invites its guests to discover Europe.
How does it work? It's simple: We talk to young people from various countries about Europe and their personal topics of interest. The topics are as diverse as the speakers and can range from current political and social developments through culture and science to one's own commitment to greater tolerance or solidarity. In addition to the given topic, all participants can also vote live on other topics and ask questions on the evening itself.

On 25 August Janne Koivisto will take you on a trip to Finland

Janne Koivisto is a 29-year-old designer by profession, born and raised in the Eastern part of Finland in a small agricultural town of Suonenjoki. Janne studied his high school in United WorldCollege in Costa Rica, later a Bachelor's Degree in Arts in University of Lapland and Master's in Art on New Media Design & Production at the world-renowned Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture of Aalto University in Finland. Janne is working in the country's largest retail business chain S Group right now as a UX Designer.

He will talk about this: Finland in the 90s and early 2000s was defined by Nokia. For a long period of time Nokia was the dominant manufacturer in the telecommunications industry from cellphones to GSM technologies. After the launch of the iPhone, Nokia's future was destined and the rest is history. Nokia is a generational experience for many that has defined much of the culture, market structure, and much more in Finland. In this presentation he ist going to look at some aspects that Nokia changed and defined in Finland before and after its expansion.

How does the online discussion work technically?

Just click on "Individual registration" (Einzelanmeldung) or "Group registration" (Gruppenanmeldung) below and register, then you will immediately receive the access data by e-mail.

On the day of the event, you can join the event a few minutes before it starts. At the online event, you will not be seen or heard in person. Instead, you can enter your questions and comments via keyboard and the moderator will pass the questions on to the speakers. If necessary, the microphones of the guests will also be activated to allow questions directly via audio.
