My Europe / Mein Europa

My Europe' is an interactive digital series of events that invites its guests to discover Europe.
How does it work? It's simple: We talk to young people from various countries about Europe and their personal topics of interest. The topics are as diverse as the speakers and can range from current political and social developments through culture and science to one's own commitment to greater tolerance or solidarity. In addition to the given topic, all participants can also vote live on other topics and ask questions on the evening itself.

On 23 June Radu Dumitrescu will take you on a trip to Romania

Radu Dumitrescu is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Political Science at the University of Bucharest and is funded by the Charlemagne Prize Academy for his research project on how shorter supply chains could strengthen Europe’s economy. With 25 years old, he has already worked as Editor-in-Chief of The New Federalist, a web magazine headquartered in Brussels and as a fact-checker at the NGO Funky Citizens, which focusses on political education in Romania. He won the EU in my Region blogging contest and the Imagine Europe idea contest, the SME Youth Essay contest and was nominated for the 2019 European Press Prize as one of the youngest nominees ever.

The event in English will be moderated by Carlotta Diederich. Radu he will introduce his country, moreover the topic Romania and the EU. He will deepen into his Topic of the Heart "Manufacturing in Eastern Europe". Furthermore the audience will get the chance to vote on other topics. Two of them will be discussed during the event:

• Rule of law in Romania
• The pandemic in Romania
• Minority issues in Romania
• Migration to / from Romania

How does the online discussion work technically?

Just click on "Individual registration" (Einzelanmeldung) or "Group registration" (Gruppenanmeldung) below and register, then you will immediately receive the access data by e-mail.

On the day of the event, you can join the event a few minutes before it starts. At the online event, you will not be seen or heard in person. Instead, you can enter your questions and comments via keyboard and the moderator will pass the questions on to the speakers. If necessary, the microphones of the guests will also be activated to allow questions directly via audio.
